Kanye West and Adele Lead 2012 Grammy Nominations

With the release of her chart-topping album 21 featuring hits "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You," Adele has had quite a year. And the singer is ending 2011 with a bang, nabbing six Grammy nominations. But Adele isn't the only one who scored big this year -- Kanye West takes the lead with seven nominations!

Bruno Mars is tied with Adele at six nominations, and Lil Wayne, Skrillex, Nicki Minaj, The Band Perry, and rapper J.Cole aren't far behind with five nominations each.

Adele Leads 2011 American Music Awards Nominations

The 2011 American Music Award nominations have officially been announced -- and "Someone Like You" singer Adele is in the lead with four nominations! Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Lil Wayne, and The Band Perry aren't far behind -- they're all tied at three nominations each.

"Just got word of the American Music Awards noms!" Taylor Tweeted. "Artist of the year, Favorite Country Album, Favorite Country Female! This day is so awesome!!"

Here are five things you need to know about The Band Perry who are currently touring across the U.S.!

1. Country crooners The Band Perry, consists of siblings Kimberly Perry (lead vocals, guitar, and piano), Reid Perry (bass guitar), and Neil Perry (drums, mandolin, and accordion). "We have always jammed together in the living room even though we were in separate bands and about six years ago the boys had gotten way taller than me, logistics had all worked out. They lost their matching bowl cuts that they had for years and it was time to become The Band Perry," Kimberly tells J-14 about how it all began. "So that's really how we got our start and really tie the knot as a family band."
